He died December 29, 1982, in Okmulgee. He was a farmer and a member of Hickory Ground No. One Indian Baptist Church. Funeral services were held on December 31 in the Shurden Memorial Chapel with Rev. James McCOSAR, assisted by Rev. Larry CHESSER, officiating. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Interment was in the Hickory Ground Number One Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home, Henryetta. Survivors include his wife, Annie HAYNES, of the home; his three sons, John HAYNES of Stringtown, Felix HAYNES of Okmulgee, and Daniel HAYNES of Tulsa; his four daughters, Marie CONLEY of Holdenville, Eloise BEAVER and Louise TECUMSEH, both of Okmulgee, and Cindy SMITH of Weleetka; four brothers, Lawrence HAYNES and Gene HAYNES, both of Henryetta, Roman HAYNES of Glenpool, and Newman HAYNES of Joliett, IL; one sister, Rosetta MORGAN of Morris; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
