He died February 8, 1983, in the Creek Nation Community Hospital. Funeral services were held in February. No other information on the place or date of the funeral or interment were given. His home was in Okmulgee and he was a member of Hickory Grounds Number Two Church. His survivors include his two sons, Robert LONG of Henryetta, and Jimmy LONG of Shawnee; his two daughters, Pauline LONG of Okmulgee, and Ida SAWYER of Wewoka; two sisters, Ida Mae MARTIN and Betty Jo HUNTSINGER, both of Maude; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
