He died November 5, 1995. Funeral services were held November 7 at the First Baptist Church, where he was a member. Officiating the service was Rev. Dave KELLEY. Interment was in Morris Cemetery. He graduated from Jones Academy in 1965 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as an electrician for 13 years. He was active in the Awanas Youth Ministry at First Baptist, as well as the bus ministry and teaching Sunday school. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosanna Kanard POWELL. He was survived by his wife, Carolyn Sevier POWELL, whom he married on January 24, 1970; his son, Ryan KISLING of Durant; his daughter, Debbie MURRAY of Okmulgee; three brothers, J.C. KANARD of Wewoka, Sandy POWELL of Norman, and Jimmy POWELL of Del City; two sisters, Lorene BAKER of Stillwater, and Bonnie JOHNSON of Holdenville; and one grandson, Taylor MURRAY.
