She died February 12, 1996, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Funeral services were held February 13 at Tuskegee Baptist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Alan COLBERT and Rev. Ernest MARSHALL officiated the services. Pallbearers were Kenneth COLBERT, Richmond COLBERT, Steve MARSHALL, Perry MCCOMBS, Taylor PHILLIPS, and Bobby SULLIVAN. Interment was in the Tuskegee Cemetery. She was a graduate of Eufaula High School and became a licensed practical nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Bessie McCombs SULLIVAN; two sisters, Gladys MULLINS and Martha Jane HOWARD; four brothers, August SULLIVAN, Stoddard SULLIVAN, Newman SULLIVAN and Robert SULLIVAN. She was survived by her daughters, Renee Lu BURRIS of Dallas; three grandchildren, Melissa BURRIS and Reggie BURRIS, both of Dallas, and Jeremy COLBERT of Eufaula; two sisters, Geneva COLBERT and Mae SULLIVAN, both of Eufaula; three nieces and two nephews.
