He died December 11, 1995, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held December 14 at Foster’s Ivory Chapel with Rev. Tom SHELTON officiating. Burial was in Oktaha Cemetery. He graduated from Oktaha High School in 1944 and was a truck driver for Eastern Sales from 1962 to 1980. In his retirement, he was the volunteer caretaker of Ft. Howard Soccer Complex and also took responsibility for the upkeep on the local Muscogee Indian Community (grounds?). He was preceded in death by his father, Frank SCHOONOVER. He is survived by his mother, Alice Thompson SCHOONOVER of Muskogee; his two sons, Vernon Glenn SCHOONOVER of August, GA, and Carnie E. “Gene” SCHOONOVER of Ft. Riley, KS; his daughter, Brenda C. SELLERS of Muskogee; two grandsons, Stefan and Ramsey SELLERS of Muskogee; a granddaughter, Ciera Jordan SCHOONOVER of Ft. Riley, KS; two sisters, Virginia TIDWELL of Muskogee, and Lahoma BATES of Muskogee.
