She died December 24, 1995, in Okemah. Funeral services were held December 17 at Prairie Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member. Officiating the service was Rev. Joe BENDER. No information was given on the place of interment. She was the daughter of Willie and Mettie Harjogee FIXICO, both deceased. She was survived by her husband, Joe SMITH, whom she married in August 1947 in Okemah; her three sons, Captain John SMITH of Shawnee, and Randolph SMITH and Jason SMITH, both of Okemah; her two daughters, Betty SMITH of Okemah, and Gail SMITH of Castle; five brothers; one sister; eight grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
