He died January 30, 1996, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held February 3 at Middle Creek #1 Baptist Church with Rev. Dave LONG, Jr. and Rev. Joe BURNER officiating. Pallbearers were Chris CERDA, Russell COKER, Jr., Sam HOOSH, David MONTOYA, Eddie NAJAR, and Allen NEITZEL. Interment was in the Lamar Cemetery. He attended Lamar and Chilocco schools and worked for Manhattan Cleaners for 18 years. He was the son of Walter and Mildred McGirt WALTER. His mother survived and lived in Lamar. He also is survived by his wife, Shirley Ripley LAMAR, whom he married in 1959; his three daughters, Susan WALTER, Lisa WALTER and Carrie WALTER, all of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
