He died March 30, 1997. Graveside services were held April 2 at the Artussee Family Cemetery with Tony HICKS officiating. Pallbearers were Ty HICKS, Scotty HARJO, Arnold MEELY, Preston MEELY, Allen KING, and Harley LEWIS. He was a retired foreman for Buntee Candy Company. He was an elder and former empunayv of Apekv Tribal Town and a tribal council member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Luila ARTUSSEE; and two brothers (unnamed). He was survived by his wife, Annie Factor ARTUSSEE, whom he married on December 27, 1952, in Grady County; his daughter, Joyce METHLO of NM; and two sisters, Ina ARTUSSEE and Juanita ARTUSSEE, both of Okmulgee.
