He died June 23, 1997, at the Claremore Indian Health Center. Funeral services were June 26 at Sand Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Harry ANDERSON officiating. Pallbearers were Tony GREEN, Dave GREEN, Eugene GREEN, Melford HOBIA, John SAMUEL and Eugene JAMES. Interment was at the Buckley Family Cemetery. Buckley was the son of Henry BUCKLEY and Ella HARJO who preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Polly; daughters Penny Marie BUCKLEY, Cheryl MEELEY and Crystal BUCKLEY all of Tulsa; six brothers, Jimmy BUCKLEY of Dewar, Solomon BUCKLEY of Tulsa, Frankie BUCKLEY of California, Jonas BUCKLEY of Holdenville, Vincent BUCKLEY of Shawnee, and Richard COONHEAD of Missouri; four sisters, Marie ASBURY of Wichita Falls, TX., Lula SCHWAGMAN of Las Vegas, NV, Leona WILEY of Mannford, and Angela GOLDEN of Okemah; a granddaughter, Sosha Lee MEELEY of Tulsa; several nieces, nephews and relatives.
