She died December 24, 1996. Funeral services were held November 28 at First Free Will Baptist Church. Interment was in Weleetka Hillcrest Cemetery. She was raised in the Weleetka area and attended Mission Bottom Indian Boarding School. She was a longtime member of Hvtcecvpv Baptist Church and helped raise several children in addition to her own. She was preceded in death by her parents A.P. and Polly Ben STEPHENSON; and her husband, A.J. BURDEN, whom she married in 1918. She was survived by her son, Bill BURDEN; her daughter, Geneva HUNT; daughter-in-law, Dorothy BURDEN; and a sister, Lucille NUSSBAUM, all of Weleetka; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
