She died February 26, 1997. Wake services were held February 27 followed by funeral services on February 28, both at Tuskegee Baptist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Allen Colbert officiated the funeral. Pallbearers were Sam MARSHALL, DeWayne MARSHALL, Bunny HILL, Kenneth COLBERT, Rick COLBERT, and Bobby SULLIVAN. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Taylor PHILLIPS, Dan DREW, Charley COLBERT, Ernest MARSHALL, Tom McCOMBS, and Perry McCOMBS. Burial was in Tuskegee Cemetery. She was a clerk for Sante Fe Trailways. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tucker and Polly McCombs MARSHALL; her husband, Harold BARNABY, whom she married in 1965 in Pryor; six brothers, Sam MARSHALL, Ben MARSHALL, Silas MARSHALL, Sandy MARSHALL, Howard MARSHALL, and Joe MARSHALL; and two sisters, Mabel DICK and Ernestine EDWARDS. She was survived by her daughter, Betty Arlene MAYES of Henderson; her son, Charles Norman DRYWATER of Washington, DC; two sisters, Leona COLBERT of Eufaula, and Helen DIONNE of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Ernest MARSHALL of Muskogee; a grandson, Anthony Scott LAMB; a granddaughter, Mary Ellen STONEBURGER of Disney; and seven great-grandchildren.
