He died February 24, 1999, at his home. Funeral services were held February 27 at the Parks Brothers Chapel with Rev. Carl CLAY officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby BEAN, Jimmy SMITH, Don BAKER, Gordon GEREN, Cecil CAMPBELL and Leon SHEPARD. Honorary pallbearerss were Nolan RUTLAND, Claude KEZER, Ira SKINNER, Nolan ADAMS, Harlan SWINFORD and Terry SWINFORD. Interment was at Highland Cemetery. He was a rancher and active for many years in the Okemah Round-Up Club, the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association and a member of First Baptist Church in Okemah. He was the son of John and Jeanetta Harvison BROOKS. On June 14, 1923, he married Margaret Alyne GEREN in Wetumka. She survives. His other survivors include his sons John BROOK of Tulsa, and Dan BROOK of Okemah; his daughter, Candee COLLINS of Killgore, TX; two sisters, Virginia BIRK of Santa Barbara, CA, and LuCretia HARKEY-ROBERTS of Okemah; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
