He died February 3, 1998, at Columbia Regional Medical Center in Tulsa. Funeral services were held February 6 at Sand Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Harry ANDERSON and Bill HOBIA officiating. Pallbearers were Jesse GIVENS, Michael GIVENS, Sonny GIVENS, Tiger HOBIA, Ricky HOBIA, and Brian GIVENS. Interment was in Sand Creek Cemetery. He graduated from Wetumka Public Schools in 1994, attended Rose State College in Midwest City, and Wes Watkins Vocational Technical School where he received nurse's aid certification. He was a Red Cross volunteer and had been cited for his service during the bombing of the Alfed P. Murrah Building. He was a longtime member of the Sand Creek Baptist Church were he served as church pianist. He was very active in mission programs with the Muscogee-Seminole-Wichita Baptist Association. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary GIVENS and Louis and Agnes HOBIA. He is survived by his parents, Benjamin EUNAH and Martha Hobia GIVENS; two brothers, Louis GIVENS and Brian GIVENS of the home; three sisters, Semvthoye GIVENS, Mary GIVENS, and Justina GIVENS of the home; a nephew Justin RHINEHART of the home; grandfather, Eunah GIVENS; two great-uncles, Revs. Johnson ROBERTS of Dustin and James WESLEY of Wetumka; three great-aunts, Susie MARTINEZ, Minnie WESLEY, and Leona GIVENS, all of Wetumka; eight uncles, Jesse, Sonny, and Michael GIVENS of Wetumka, Rev. Bill HOBIA of Seminole, Melford HOBIA of Weleetka, Wilburn HOBIA of Oklahoma City, Tiger HOBIA of Weleetka, and Ricky HOBIA all of Wetumka; Four aunts, Millie SCOTT, June FIXICO, Mary GIVENS, and Fannie HOBIA, all of Wetumka; and several relatives and friends.
