He was a WWII veteran and a well know rodeo calf roper. Funeral services were held Jan. 17 at Sand Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Harry ANDERSON and Don WALKER officiating. Pallbearers were Buddy KESSEE, Bronco HARJO, Lance HARJO, Roy RAINWATER, Brent RAINWATER, and Mel AUTRY. Honorary pallbearers were David HARJO, Turner MEADORS, Sonny GOODSPEED, Ira HICKERSON, Bob ARRINGTON, Ricky BEMO, Leon REYNOLDS, Bobby BURGESS and Jake CLINTON. Interment was at the Harjo Family Cemetery. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bunny and Betsy (FIFE) HARJO, his wife Imogene, mother-in-law Mary, and sister-in-law Wanda. He is survived by nephews, Nelson HARJO of Checotah and David HARJO of Norman; nieces, Betsy PROCTOR and Judith HARJO of Wetumka; a sister-in-law, Marie HARJO of Wetumka; eight great-nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews; relatives and friends.
