He died March 18, 1998, in Tahlequah. The March 21 funeral services were officiated by Rev. Jerry SOUTHERN at Elm Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member. Elm Grove church members served as casketbearers. Interment was in Council Hill Cemetery. He was a labor and a lifelong resident of the Council Hill area. He was also a member of the American Legion in Boynton. Preceding him in death were his wife, Ester PRUITT, his parents, Amburs F. and Ola Brown HERRON, and his brother Woodrow HERRON. He is survived by his sisster-in-law, Verda HERRON; three nieces; many great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
