He died January 12, 1986, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. An Indian prayer service was held January 13 at Merrit Funeral Chapel in Eufaula, followed by funeral services at Trenton Indian Baptist Church, where he had been baptized. Rev. Dan PHILLIPS, Roley HAYNES and Gary HAWKINS officiated the services. Pallbearers were Thomas YAHOLA, Bobby GRAY, Leonard McGUIRE, Max BRIDGES, Alfonzo CHILES, Sr., Eddie LOWE, Winston BILLY and Andrew HAWKINS. Burial was in the Proctor Family Cemetery. He was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church near Henryetta, and a World War II Navy Veteran. He retired in 1983 from being a self employed carpet installer. On October 4, 1947, he married Margaret VICKERY in Miami. She survives. He also is survived by his four sons, Robert Charles FLOYD and Phillip David FLOYD, both of Oklahoma City, James FLOYD of Eufaula, and Jerry Don FLOYD of Muskogee; five daughters, Regina Sue WILBANKS and Betty Jo FLOYD, both of Oklahoma City, Nancy CHILES and Lisa Ballard FLOYD, both of Eufaula, and Anita Bandy FLOYD of Tulsa; a sister Carrie DAVIS of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
