C. D. HARJO was born January 7, 1918, in Okfuskee County. He died March 16, 1984, in the Creek Nation Community Hospital at Okemah. He had been a resident of Okfuskee County all his life. Funeral services were held in the Greenleaf Baptist Church on March 19 with Rev. Roley HAYNES and Rev. Thompson BILLY officiating, Interment was in the Greenleaf Cemetery. He was married to Marie SANDS in October 1942. She preceded him in death. On March 4, 1984, Greenleaf Church had honored Rev. Harjo for having served 13 years as a deacon and 25 years as their pastor. He is survived by his five sons, Roley HARJO and Stephen HARJO, both of Tulsa, Wayne HARJO of Ada, Wilson HARJO and Cornell HARJO, both of Oklahoma City; his four daughters, Irene TIGER of Owasso, Ora DAY of Reno, NV, Carolyn POWELL and Hulda LITTLE, both of Tulsa; and 13 grandchildren.
