James McCOSAR died January 9, 1984. No information was given on his age or date of birth, only that he was born in Hughes County. Funeral services were conducted January 13 at Many Springs Church in Holdenville. No other information was given on his funeral or interment. He had served as pastor of several Indian churches, including Weikwa Baptist Church near Sand Springs, and Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church, where he served for ten years, commuting from Tulsa where he had moved in 1958. His survivors include his wife, Vivian McCOSAR, of the home; three sons, Bobby McCOSAR, James McCOSAR, Jr., and Arthur McCOSAR, all of Tulsa; one daughters, Evelyn TOFPI of El Reno; one sister, Lizzie FACTOR of Wewoka; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
