He died February 21, 1986, at a Tulsa hospital. He was a retired pipefitter. Funeral services were held at the Alabama Baptist Church on February 25, with Rev. Roley HAYNES and Brother CATCHER officiating. Pallbearers were Limbo MANLEY, Red MICCO, Eugene MANLEY, Steve STEPHENSON, Michael WISNER, Steve BURDEN, Cecil GIBSON, Bud BURDEN, Orville JONES, Tom PIKE, M. B. HAMBY, Truman KECK, Randolph FREENY and Walter MOFFIT. Interment was at the Stephenson family Cemetery under the direction of the Buchanan-McClendon Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Billie STEPHENSON of the home, his two sons, Wendell STEPHENSON of Henryetta and Bennie STEPHENSON of Ft. Smith, AR; four sisters, Augusta BURDEN of Weleetka, Lucina NUSSBUAM of Okmulgee, and Lillian JESSE and Helen WASHINGTON, both of Weleetka; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
