DEERINGWATER was born March 17, 1940 in Braggs. He died January 12, 1988 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services were held January 18 at VAH-KI Presbyterian Church on the Gila River Indian Reservation, Casa Blanca, AZ, with Rev. Joe Smith officiating. No information was given on his interment. He had moved from Braggs to Okemah in 1946 then later made his home in Mesa, AZ. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. His parents were Henry and Louise DEERINGWATER, who are deceased. His survivors include his wife, Richenda Milda DEERINGWATER; his three children, Johnny Ray DEERINGWATER, Cindy Kay DEERINGWATER, and Linda Tarness DEERINGWATER, all of the home; his brothers, Alex DEERINGWATER of Bristow, George Lee DEERINGWATER of Show Low, AZ; sisters, Susanna BEAR, Rosalie DEERINGWATER of Okemah, and Lavena PEARSON of Stilwell; one aunt, Susie GAMMILL of Okemah; and many friends, relatives, nieces and nephews.
