She died March 23, 1988, at the Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral services were held March 26 at the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church. Officiating the service were Rev. Jonas PARTRIDGE and Rev. Christopher HARJO. Pallbearers were Otho LITTLE, David (Sonny) McKINNEY, Leonard HARJO, Bobby MORGAN, Donnie ASBURY and Howard TYLER, Jr. Interment was in the Wetumka Cemetery. She was a member of the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church and served as society deaconess and Women's Chairman. She enjoyed hymns in both Creek and English and her favorite hymn was "Mumis Komvkes." She married Isaac McGIRT on April 14, 1937. He precede her in death on February 26, 1959, as did two of their sons, Dan McGIRT on January 5, 1972, and John Thomas McGIRT on January 21, 1978. She was survived by one son, David McGIRT of Wetumka; four daughters, Irene McQUEEN, Rachel ASBURY, Darlene MORGAN and Deborah McGIRT, all of Wetumka; six brothers, Jake MARSHALL of Wewoka, Jim MARSHALL of Shawnee, George MARSHALL of Dustin, and Paul MARSHALL, Louis MARSHALL and Joe MARSHALL, all of Wetumka; seven sisters, Ella HERIOD of Holdenville, Martha WELLS of Okemah, Christine HARJO and Mary LANDSBERRY, both of Henryetta, and Annie TIGER, Ruth HARJO and Mimmie MARSHALL, all of Wetumka; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
