He died April 8, 1990. Funeral services were held April 10 at Sand Creek Baptist Church near Okemah with Rev. J.B. Fish and Mose SCOTT officiating. Burial was in the Wetumka Cemetery. He attended Bacone College in Musskogee and the Mexico (MO) Military Academy. He served as senior instructor at the United States Army’s Camp Walter in Texas fro 1943-46. He worked at the American Zink Plant until returning to Wetumka in 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bunny and Betsey Fife HARJO; his brothers, Doc HARJO, Joe HARJO and Jake HARJO. He married Marie THATCHER at Vian in 1942. She survives. His other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Rhonda HARJO of Norman; one brother, Shot HARJO of Wetumka; a sister, Elouise PROCTOR of Wetumka ad one granddaughter.
