Daniel PHILLIPS, Jr., was born June 5, 1925, in McIntosh County. He died February 18 1990, at the Community Hospital Lakeview in Eufaula. Prayer services were held February 19 at the Little Coweta Indian Baptist Church, where he was a member, with funeral services conducted February 10, also at the church. Rev. George JESSE and Rev. J.B. FISH officiated the service. Pallbearers were Jack BEDFORD, Daniel DEERE, Kenneth LOMA, Michael DEERE, Adam JONES, Jr., and Sonny BARNETT. John KELLEY was honorary pallbearer. Graveside services were held in the Greenwood Cemetery conducted by the Eufaula VFW Post 8798, with interment following. He was an Army veteran and POW survivor of World War II. He served as a missionary to the Creek Indian churches and was a member of the DAV and the Eufaula VFW Post 8798. He had been a resident of in Stedham. He was the son of Daniel and Mandy Hill PHILLIPS, Sr., both deceased. He was married to Mina HARJO in Columbus, KS, June 4, 1974. She survives. He was also survived by his four daughters, Ramona BEDFORD and Jena LOMA, both of Eufaula, and Twanna Sue DEERE and Amanda MIDDLETON, both of Stidham; two brothers, Birdcreek PHILLIIPS and Franklin D. PHILLIPS, both of Eufaula; a sister, Mildred KETCHISHAWNO of Shawnee; six grandchildren; and an aunt, Emma LEWIS of Eufaula.
