She died in January, 1990. No day of death was given. Two services were held for her. An all night wake service was held January 25 at Newtown Methodist Indian Church. Speakers were Bud SULLIVAN, George Henry AUTAUBO, Jr., Togo BERRYHILL and several other speakers. Funeral services were conducted February January 26 with Rev. Floyd PETERSand Rev. Mike HARJO officiating. Pall pearers were Freeland POWELL, Samuel SIMMERS, Tommy GRAYSON, Sr., George Henry AUTAUBO, Jr., Robert KAHBEAH, Robert SMITH, Jr., Edward Lee SIMMERS, Freddie VAN WOUDENBERG and Henry HICKS, Jr. Burial was in the Miller Memorial Cemetery. She was a faithful member of Newtown Methodist, a dedicated member of United Methodist Women’s Society, a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bernice HICKS and Pauline GRAYSON; and two brothers, John MILLER and Sam MILLER. She is survived by her three sons, Dave POWELL and Abraham SIMMERS of Okmulgee, and Curtis SIMMERS of Westminister, MD; her three daughters, Esther VAN WOUDENBERG of Glenpool, Rebecca AUTAUBO and Priscella KAHBEAH of Okmulgee; one sister, Polly HOMMA of the home; and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
