MEARES was born March 31, 1901, in Muskogee, Indian Territory. She died June 30, 1991, in a Muskogee nursing home. Funeral services were July 1 with Rev. Phil WARE officiating. The place for the funeral was not given. Pallbearers were Don PETERS, Ed LOWRY, Lynn NOLEN, Calvin MOORE and Tommy GOODSON. Burial was in Greenhill cemetery. She was a retired Bureau of Indian Affairs employee and the daughter of James and Stella Tiger EVANS, both deceased. She was survived by her two sons, James MEARERS of Tulsa and Cecil MEARERS of Huntsville, TX; her daughter, Iris EBY of Stillwater; five grandchildren; two sisters, Phidelta NEAL of Beggs and Arletta ANDERSON of Oklahoma City.
