She died September 30, 1991, at her home in rural Okemah. Wake services were held at the Merritt Cottage Chapel on October 1, with funeral services following on October 2 at the High Springs Baptist Church south of Okemah, where she was a member. The services were officiated by Rev. Daniel WIND. Pallbearers were Carl NOON, Travis WIND, Thomas WIND, Timothy WIND, Vincent LOPEZ and James BENDER. Burial was in the High Springs Cemetery. She served the High Spring church for 15 years as treasurer and for many years as pianist, woman’s leader and Sunday School teacher. She also served in the Muscogee-Seminole-Wichita Association as GA director, child care director and in other MSW programs. She also had been a kindergarten aid with the Butner School System, and supervisor of the day care center for Creek Nation. She was the daughter of James and Mattie HARJO. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives. She was married to Daniel D. WIND on June 4, 1946 at Independence, KS. He also survives. Her other survivors include her three sons, Allan WIND of Shawnee, Daniel WIND of Tahlequah, and James WIND of Okemah; her two daughters, Dee LOPEZ of Shawnee, and Loretta NOON of Okemah; two brothers, Eugene HARJO of Oklahoma City, and Joseph HARJO of Weleetka; two sisters, Josephine WIND of Wetumka, and Bernice SEALY of Okemah; 15 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
