David J. CUMMINGS was born March 16, 1915, at Hanna. He died in (December?), 1992, at age 78. Funeral services were held December 9 at the First Indian Baptist Church in Shawnee. Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. He grew up in Hanna and served in both World Ward II and the Korean conflict. He was ordained in 1962 at Wekiwa Baptist Church and had served as pastor of Friendship Baptist Church until his retirement in 1983. He had previously pastored many other churches including Oakhurst and Weogufkee. He is survived by his wife, Catherine CUMMINGS, of the home; (his children?) Ingrid TATE of Virginia, Dale KNAPP of Virginia, Richard CUMMINGS of El Paso, TX, Marcus CUMMINGS of Richmond, VA, Ellis CUMMINGS of Oceanside, CA, and Boyd CUMMINGS of Shawnee; one brother, Jake McGILBRAY; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
