He died in December 1992. No day of death was given. Funeral services were held December 31 at the Wickline United Methodist Church, where he was a member. No other information was given on his funeral or place of interment. As a teenager, he was chosen as outstanding athelete of Edmond High School. He earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Oklahoma for his freshman year before transferring to Central State College where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He later earned his master’s degree and a counselor’s certificate from O.U. He taught and coached for 37 years at Crooked Oak, Fitzhugh, Sapulpa, and Midwest City schools. He served for four years in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. In addition to his church membership, he was also a member of Methodist Men’s Club, Oklahoma Officials Association, National Education Assocation, Oklahoma Education Assocciation, Red Red Rose, Moose Lodge and the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System. In his honor, his former classmates established a scholarship at the University of Oklahoma. He was the son of Foster and Lodie GREGORY, both deceased. His brother, Nelson F. GREGORY also preceded him in death. He was survived by his wife, Bernice GREGORY; his two sons, Bobby Lamar GREGORY of Shawnee, and Michael Dean GREGORY of Dallas; a brother, Dee GREGORY of Arkansas City KS; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
