He died December 1, 1992, at Creek Nation Community Hospital at Okemah. Funeral services were held December 7 at Tookparfka Baptist Church with Rev. George JESSE officiating. Interment was in the Herrod Family Cemetery. He attended Wetumka Public Schools and was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. He was employed with the Oklahoma National Stockyard. He and his wife were member of the International Church of God in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Rev.Willie and Betsy Swimmer HERROD. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Willie HERROD. His father,of Hiawatha, KS, survives. Also surviving were his wife, Debbie Wilkerson HERROD, of the home, whom he married in July 1991; a son, Chad HERROD of Cromwell; three stepsons, Travis, Sean, and Chad WILKERSON of Cromwell; two brothers, Jonathan HERROD of Wapato, WA, and Holloway HERROD of Hiawatha, KS; four sisters, Willa WASHINGTON and Abbey WESLEY, both of Oklahoma City, Faye HERROD of Del City, and Connie HARJO of Midwest City; several nieces, nephews, and several friends.
