She died December 25, 1992, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held December 29 at Black’s Funeral Home with Rev. Jim CUNNINGHAM officiating. Pallbearers were Wallace BRASUELL, Leo BRASUELL, Vann D. McINTOSH, Phillip McINTOSH, Abe McINTOSH, Dr. Stanley P. McINTOSH, Dr. Roley D. McINTOSH, and Stacy McINTOSH. Burial was in the Hawkins-McIntosh Cemetery near Stidham. She grew up in the Brush Hill, Checotah and Pierce areas, graduated from Warner High School, attended Connors State College and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She taught school at Pierce for 2 years and at Stidham for 18 years. She was a member of Big Arbor Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Rosetta Morgan Prater; a daughter, Cheneya Marie McINTOSH; three sisters, Margie BAUGHAM, Emma ODOM, and Elsie ETHISON; and one brother, Benny PRATER. She was married at Fame in 1931 to Rev. Boney McINTOSH, who survives. Her other survivors include her three daughters and their husbands, Kaniah J. and George McINTOSH of Muskogee, M. Wacola and Archie EAST of Poko Moke City, MD, and Ellen Wanaka BURKS of Arlington, TX; five sisters, Edna BEARD of Prarie Grove, AR, Marie ROSS and Alta DAVIS, both of Westville, Katherine ETCHISON of Siloam Springs, AR, and Eloise DAVIS of Summers, AR; one brother, Warren PRATER of Pryor; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
