Mose SCOTT was born May 7, 1932, in Hughes County. He died March 17, 1993, at the Wetumka General Hospital. Funeral services were held March 22 at the Salt Creek Baptist Church. No information was given on the place of interment. He was raised in Hughes County and attended Lawnwood School, Wetumka Central Grade School, Weleetka school, and Chillocco Indian School in Muskogee. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman until his discharge Oct. 31, 1960. He was ordained to the ministry August 25, 1968. He had pastored Tookparfka and Salt Creek Indian Baptist churches. He was the son of Daniel and Roseanna Hobia SCOTT, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Sampson SCOTT; and an uncle, Albert THOMAS. He was married June 1955 at Okemah to Elouise TIGER. She survives. His other survivors include his five sons, George SCOTT and Elliot SCOTT, both of Oklahoma City, and Allen SCOTT of Wewoka; three daughters, Gwen WALKER of Oklahoma City, Rose BELL of Brea, CA, and Julie SCOTT of Tulsa; a nephew, Kenneth Wayne SCOTT of Tulsa; eight grandchildren, several other relatives and many friends.
