He died December 22, 1992, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held at Pecan Grove Methodist Church, where he was a member. Officiating the service were Rev. Malcolm and Joseph TIGER. Burial was in the Yahola Family Cemetery. He grew up in Hughes County and attended Pecan Grove School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a long time member of the Pecan Grove church and served as deacon. He was the son of Henry and Emma Shipley YAHOLA, both deceased. On August 20, 1961, he married Lucy SMITH. She preceded him in death January 13, 1992. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jo MURPHY and W.H. MURPHY of Shawnee; two brothers, Miller YAHOLA of Oklahoma City, and Harry YAHOLA of Shawnee; a sister, Susie HARJO of Bowlegs; three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
