No information was given on his age or birthdate. Funeral services were held February 24 at Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home. Interment was in the Vernon Cemetery. He was a case manager for the Ahalaya Project and active in the Tulsa Indian community. He started the first support group for HIV-positive American Indian men and developed a Hispanic HIV-AIDS program. His survivors include his parents, Mary and Marvin GEREN; brothers, Johnny GEREN, Jeff GEREN, James GEREN, and Pudge GEREN; nephews, Andrew and Joshua and a niece, Jennifer (no last names given.)
