He died May 23, 1994, in Clinton. Funeral services were held May 26 at The Chapel, with Rev. Max MALONE officiating. Pallbearers were Paul ARMSTRONG, Randy MOORE, Tom RIVERA, Dick SAWATZKY, Issy UMSCHEID, and Bill WALKER. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. He attended Morris schools and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1927. He attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS, and served 39 months in the China-Burma-India theater during World War II. He was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for ten years at the Pawnee Agency and later owned the Mohawk Lodge Indian Store in Clinton for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Leona Matlock MOORE; three brothers (unnamed); and his wife, Dorothy Mae HOWECUM. His survivors include seven brothers, John MOORE of Macon, GA, Thomas MOORE and Lawrence MOORE, both of Okmulgee, Kenneth MOORE and Glenn MOORE, Sr., both of Morris, Edwin S. MOORE of Muskogee, and Marcy MOORE of Concharty; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
