He died November 8, 1994, in Tulsa. Funeral services were held November 11 at Brush Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Gary KEEN officiated the service. Pallbearers were Tom PICKERING, Berry HOWELL, Justin HOWELL, Ed TOIIUS, Mike NEWTON, H.B. TAYLOR, Bill Davis, Randy DILL, Brad FOX, George JOHNSON, Eastmon HOLLOWAY, and Randy OWENS. Interment was in the Greenlawn Cemetery. He was a McIntosh District representative to the Muscogee (Creek) National Council. He was the son of Leo and Charlene Fox NEWTON. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother of Checotah; his grandmother, Leona FOX of Checotah; a brother, Timothy Leo NEWTON of Checotah; a niece, Kathey NEWTON of Checotah; two aunts, Esther HOLLOWAY of Tahlequah, and Josephine OWENS of Checotah; thre uncles, Joe FOX, Junior NEWTON, and Herman NEWTON, all of Checotah.
