She died February 20, 1995, at Claremore Indian Hospital. Funeral services were held at Haikey Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Foster HAIKEY officiating. No information was given on the place of interment. She was the daughter of Anderson and Rosa Fulokta CHISHOLM, both deceased. She and her two sisters, Pauline CHALAKEE and Lena CHALAKEE, graduated from a Bureau of Indian Affairs School in Lawrence, KS. Her mother Rosa donated three acres of family land to help establish Haikey Chapel on family property, at what is now l0lst and Memorial, and the family continued to live on the property until 1917. She married March Pinson MARTIN and had a son, Carl MARTIN, in 1923. She later married Jim CHALAKEE, who preceded her in death in 1969. She attended Springtown United Methodist Church as long as she was able and was a resident of Wood Manor Nursing Home in Claremore for the last seven years of her life. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Pauline CHALAKEE. Her survivors include her sister, Lena Chisholm BERRYHILL of Okmulgee; her son, Carl MARTIN in Broken Arrow; three grandchildren, Sheryl DuPREE of Tulsa, James MARTIN of Sterling, VA, and Betty GERBER of Broken Arrow; seven great grandchildren, Anne JOHNSON and John SIMMS, both of Tulsa,Tika MARTIN of Medford, Mass., Kevin MARTIN and Kellie MARTIN of Sterling, VA, Jennifer DAY of Norman, and Gary GERBER, Jr., of Broken Arrow.
