Newman FRANK, Sr., was born June 12, 1928, in Okmulgee County. He died October 27, 1995, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral services were held October 31 at Concharty United Methodist Church, where he was a member and minister. Officiating the service were Rev. Harry LONG, and Newman FRANK, Jr. Pallbearers were Gary HUDGENS, Larry HUDGENS, Levi ON-THE-HILL, Austin FRANK, Louis MCGEELEY, Jeremiah WILSON, Sr., Jeffrey FRANK, and Timothy MCGEELEY. Interment was in Vernon Cemetery, Coweta. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 through 1952 during the Korean War. He had been a pastor for the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference since 1982. He was licensed to preach in 1967 as a local preacher and in 1972 he became an ordained deacon of the United Methodist Church. In addition to his duties as a minister, he retired from the Hale Halsell Company in 1994 after 42 years of service. In June 1995 he retired from being a pastor. He was the son of Austin and Ida Pearl Tecumseh FRANK, both deceased. He was survived by his wife, Louvina Chalakee FRANK, whom he married January 17, 1953; his children, Newman FRANK and JoEllen BALLARD, both of Glenpool, Doris HARDGROVE of Coweta, and Ida Rochelle FRANK of the home; two sisters, Esther BRUNER and Remona HUDGENS, both of Okmulgee; six grandchildren; four nephews; three nieces; and other friends and relatives.
