She died May 21, 1995. Funeral services were held May 24 at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment was in Green Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Sapulpa. She worked at the Lincoln Indian Center as a volunteer and staff member and served on its board of directors. She was executive director of the center from 1981-82. She was a member of the private industry council, community human services planning council, strategic planning committee, Lincoln Action Program Board of Directors, Nebraska Job Training Council, Nebraska Commission for National and Community Service, National Advisory Council for Native American Employment and Training, co-chair of the National Indian Adult Education Association and president of the Nebraska Indian Education Association. She was the daughter of Albert and Nellie Cooper BIGPOND, both deceased. Her survivors include her husband, Delius ROACH of the home; sons, Chuck ROACH of San Antonio, TX, Damon ROACH of Plainview, NE, and Kevin ROACH of Kearney, NE; a brother, Roy BIGPOND of Stilwell; sisters, Ruth OLNEY of Toppenish, WA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
