He died August 12, 1995, in Sapulpa. Funeral services were held August 16 at Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Jimmy ALEXANDER and Bill ALEXANDER officiated the service. Pallbearers were Ralph Guevara, Jr., Sylvester WATASHE, Jr., Brian WATASHE, Randall SAMUELS, Elisha WATASHE, Levi WATASHE, Michael S. WATASHE, and Dondi WILDCAT. Flower carriers were Kim GUEVARA, Marcia CORREA, Antoinette SAMUELS, Francine WILDCAT, Yolanda WATASHE, Wynette WATASHE, and Amanda WATASHE. Interment was in the Bruner Family Cemetery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Polecat Ceremonial Ground. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hattie Barnett WATASHE; a brother, Andrew WATASHE; and three great-grandchildren, Amy GUEVARA, Jesse MOUNCE, and Alisha TECUMSEH. His survivors include his wife, Madelin Bruner WATASHE of the home; his six sons, Johnson Louis WATASHE, Sylvester WATASHE, Johnny WATASHE, Shawn WATASHE, and Andrew WATASHE, all of Sapulpa, and Louis F. WATASHE of Kellyville; his five daughters, Mary Ann TIGER of Okmulgee, Frances Louise WATASHE and Betty SAMUEL, both of Sapulpa, Regina WATASHE of Twin Oaks, and Juanita WATASHE of Oklahoma City; three brothers, James WATASHE, Jr., and Roman WATASHE, both of Kellyville, and Lawrence WATASHE of Sapulpa; a sister, Dorothy Lee WATASHE of Kellyville; 50 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
