He died May 16, 1995, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Funeral services were held May 20 at the family residence with Rev. Richard LEE officiating. Interment was in the Scott Family Cemetery. He was a self-employed plumber and an outdoor enthusiast who carved wood. He was associated with Alabama Quarsarty Ceremonial Ground. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Polly Barnett WHITLOW; four brothers, Lewis WHITLOW, Benjamin FIXICO, Jimmy FIXICO, and Samuel FIXICO; and two sisters, Katy Whitlow NAIL and Edna WHITLOW. His survivors include his wife Lillie Scott WHITLOW, whom he married in 1951; his children and their spouses, Michael and Carol WHITLOW and Wendell Wayne and Dorinda WHITLOW, all of Henryetta, Mitchell John WHITLOW, Jr., of Weleetka, Victoria and Luther JOHNSON of Okemah, and Joyce Ann and Rev. Richard LEE of Cache; a brother, Andre FIXICO of Houston; a sister, Edna Mae FIXICO of Okmulgee; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
