Mr. Geboe was, for many years, chief of the Miami Nation, and at the time of his death was second chief. He was an industrious, honest, upright christian man and was about 68 years old. He had been married twice, but has only one child living. He was taken with the grippe which assumed the form of pneumonia. The present chief of the Miamis, T.F. Richardville, who is a Baptist minister preached his funeral sermon at his late residence and the Odd Fellows of Melrose and Chetopa assisted at his burial service, the latter lodge conducting the ritualistic ceremony over his grave. The deceased had a fine residence on his well improved farm in the Miami Nation. Those who have known the old chief all these years have nothing but good things to say about him.
