Mrs. McBee was born Sept. 3, 1889,, in La Cygne, Kan., and had lived in Miami most of her life, moving here from Kansas. She was the second oldest member of the Miami Tribe of Indiana and was an adopted member of Quapaw tribe. A mine on her Quapaw allotment, called the Emma Gordon, was one of the oldest and richest developments in the Tri-State mining district. She still owned part of the original allotment at the time of her death. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles McBee officiating. Burial will be in GAR Cemeter under the direction of the Cooper Funeral Home. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
