Darling myaamia@nativeweb.com Indian Nations/Indian Territory Archivist ---------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. M.L. Leonard of Miami Reserve, Indian Territory, died 27 Feb 1894. Mrs. Leonard was born Mary Louisa Roubedoux at Fort Wayne, Indiana, on 04 Sept. 1830 and remained there until she was six years old. She then moved to Michigan with her grandfather and lived with her aunt until she was twenty years old, her mother having died in 1835. She married Moses Leonard, non-Indian, at Erie, Vienna Co, Michigan on the 11th day of Feb 1950. After twenty years Mr. and Mrs Leonard emigrated to Kansas for the purpose of obtaining their right in the Territory where they have lived for the past twenty years having made for themselves a good and comfortable home. Mrs. Leonard was a firm believer in the future life and was kink and gentle and beloved by all with whom she became acquainted. The kind father and faithful husband of her former life will deeply mourn the loss of his lifetime companion, but he and his children have the heart-felt sympathy of relatives and friends to comfort them in their sorrow. Mr. Leonard is now in his 66th year. He will remain at the old home with his grandchildren.
