Darling myaamia@nativeweb.com Indian Nations/Indian Territory Archivist ---------------------------------------------------------- Chetopa Kansas: It is with sympathy for the bereaved husband that we record the death on Friday, 27th ult., of Mrs. Roseanne Sharkey, wife of Mr. John Sharkey, of Four Mile, I.T. Mrs. Sharkey was Miami Indian, her maiden name was Gebo, and she was related to many of the leading Miamis. She was born in Indiana in October of 1833 and consequently was nearly fifty-three years of age at the time of her demise. She has been an invalid for years and consequently her death was not altogether unexpected, though none the less a severe blow to the bereaved family. Her funeral was preached by Rev. J.S. Gillespie on Sunday the 29th ult., and her remains laid to rest in a cemetery on the old Dollar farm, now known as the Billington place.
