Trimm of this place has a hog with six feet, five of which are natural and on which the hog walks, the sixth one however; is not fully developed and strong as it may seem, this wonderful hog is not attracting so much attention just now as another hog which has but two feet and prowles around town of night visiting peoples out buildings and wood piles. This latter hog should be penned up. Mr. Waugh permitted us to stick our tooth in an apple of the pound sweeting variety of which he has just received two barrels from the old homestead back ??? York state. Not only did we appreciate the apple but it awakened pleasant memories of our boyhood days: how well do we remember the sweet apple tree; of the same variety that stood in the old orchard back in Michigan and the well beaten path that led to it, how oft' have we pelted the old tree to make it yield its rich yellow fruit and with what satisfaction and relish - but what's the use there are other memories that cluster around that old orchard which are not so pleasant in recall. They bring up visions of paregoric and lobelia besides its long slim sprouts took the place of mama's slipper at times when the old man got busy.
