All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== Osage Journal, March 1913 Arthur Rogers died at the hospital in Kansas City, Monday at 8:30am. Mr. Rogers had been in poor health something like three months and had been in the hospital about two weeks. An operation for cancer of the stomach had been performed Saturday, the patient rallying at first and it was then thought for some time he would come through but he lasted only a few hours. Mr. Rogers was in his 54th year. He has lived practically all his life on the Osage reservation, being a member of one of the oldest and most respected Osage families. His death is a peculiarly sad one as he leaves a family of six small children, to whom he has been both father and mother since the death of the mother some four years ago. He leaves besides the children, a mother, Mrs. T. L. Rogers, Sr.; two sisters, MesdamesT. J. and W. T. Leahy and one brother, T. L. Rogers, Jr. Funeral services were conducted yesterday at 2 pm, from the Catholic Church.
