Albin PERRY, Okla. — Bobby “Bob” Levern Albin, 73, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004, at the In-Patient Unit of Hospice Midland. Bob was born March 10, 1931, at the farm home of his grandparents, Ellsworth and Effie Albin southwest of Perry, Oklahoma. He attended Lawnview, Pikes Peak and Hunter rural schools. He also attended the Lutheran School and High School in Perry. On September 28, 1951, Bob married Wilma Carol Hise and together they celebrated just shy of 53 years together. He had been a resident of Midland, Texas, since May 1978. In January 1954, Bob began his career with Mud Products, later to become known as Baroid, a division of National Lead Co., a leading oil and gas drilling fluids company. Beginning as a truck driver, Bob worked his way up in the company as warehouse manager, field engineer and retired as West Texas Area Technical Service Engineer in March 1989. During his 35-year career, he worked at Baroid offices in Perry, Duncan and Lindsay, Oklahoma; Gering, Nebraska; Carmi, Fairfield and Olney, Illinois; Gainesville, Whitesboro, Fort Stockton, Monahans, Odessa and Midland, Texas. His mother and loving stepfather, Hazel and James L. “Roy” Dickson and one son, Steven Lee Albin, preceded Bob in death. Bob is survived by his wife, Wilma Albin of Midland, Texas; two sons, Rick L. Albin of Midland, Texas, and Eddie L. Albin and wife, Kim, of Eldorado, Texas; two daughters, Barbara McCallister and husband, Dean, of Wink, Texas, and Cathy Davila and husband, John, of Devine, Texas; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004, at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Midland arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, (432) 683-5555.
