All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== :: Pierson, Bernice Marie Strom Bernice Marie Strom Pierson was born on the home farm near Perry, OK June 15, 1914. She died August 22, 2002 in OKC. She was the daughter of Timothy and Hannah Strom and the wife of Russell Pierson of OKC. Bernice graduated from Perry High and Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, OK with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Oklahoma A&M College, she was chosen Princess of the College of Agriculture during her freshman year. She was an excellent student and was elected to the Education Honor Society. She taught school in a oneroom schoolhouse after attending college and was a substitute teacher for the OKC Schools for 33 years. On her first day at Oklahoma A&M College she met Russell Pierson. They were married in 1935 following her teaching experience and moved to Hollis, OK where Russell was Assistant County Agricultural Agent. Bernice's life reflected the love of Christ as she accepted Christ as her Savior while attending a revival at a country Baptist church near Hollis. Bernice throughout her life was a faithful Christian, serving many years as a Sunday School teacher as well as other church leadership roles. Through the many years she had a wholesome influence on young people within her family, her church work and her teaching. She has served the Lord many years at Quail Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her husband Russell, Bernice is survived by her daughters LaNese Craft and her husband Gerry east of OKC, and Patricia Sholar and her husband Bob of Weatherford, OK. Together Russell and Bernice have shared 6 grandchildren; Cody Lynn Craft, Cassady Brougher Craft, Bret Robert Sholar, Curt Russell Sholar, Susan Gayle Sholar Hanny and Sarah LaNese Sholar. They have 9 great grandchildren; Elizabeth Kay Sholar, Abby Brown Sholar, Katherine Bret Sholar, Rain Hunter Harper, Shawnee Strom Harper, Madeline Jean Marie Sholar, Benjamin Thomas Sholar, Brendon Patrick Hanny and Hannah Karen Grillot Craft. She is also survived by her sister Beatrice Snyder of Dallas, TX, and two brothers Bill Strom of Stillwater and Bobby Strom of Perry. She will always be missed and loved by her family and friends. Services are 2:00 Saturday, Aug. 26th at Quail Springs Baptist Church. GUARDIAN NORTH 11600 N.
