She was born to Jesse Benjamin Bridges and Mary Opal Bridges in Marland, OK on September 26, 1925. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Werner C. (Pete) Strothmann, of Tucson; her two sisters, Marie Gould and Rosalie Kime, both of Perry, Oklahoma, and her three children, Gail (Sam) Markham and Tom (Claudia) Strothmann, of Tucson and Stacy (Charles) Masten of Prescott Valley. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Emily Markham, Eric Strothmann and Christopher Strothmann of Tucson and Sean Davidson Davidson of Prescott Valley. She was the sister-in-law of Rudolph and Joyce Strothmann of Tucson, and Curtis and Gwen Strothmann of Rockford, IL. Jo met Pete in Washington, D.C. in 1944 while he was in the U.S. Navy and she worked at the Pentagon, and they were married in 1945 after he returned from the South Pacific and Okinawa. She brought joy into many lives and loved to help others through volunteer work in Kansas City, KS, Arlington Heights, IL and Carmel, IN before moving to Tucson with Pete to enjoy retirement near their son and daughters. She will be missed by all who knew her, including patients and staff at Gambro dialysis centers, where she underwent kidney dialysis during the past three and one half years. Private memorial services were held Saturday, January 3.
