He passed away March 22, 2007. He moved with his parents, one sister and four brothers to California in 1941. He was drafted into the Army in 1943 and spent most of his tour of duty on Guam as a cryptographer. He retired in 1978 from Local 683 and retired again in 1996 as a roofing contractor. He enjoyed golfing and being with family and friends. He played on the American Legion's 282 Old Man's softball team until he broke his toe while playing and then decided he was too old. He met his wife Peggy, New Year's Eve 1948 and they married February 20, 1949. They were married 58 years. Norman is survived by his wife Peggy; two daughters Rebecca (Bruce) Carlquist, Patricia Tichenor and Patricia's two children Alyson and Brandon Albrecht; one sister June Pryor of Centralia, WA, and two brothers Q.C. (Jo) Tichenor of El Cajon, CA and David Tichenor of Yucca Valley, CA. The family is planning a private service. Burial will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. He was born in Three Sands, Okla., and was a salesman for A&R Roofing. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Tichenor; daughters, Rebecca Carlquist and Patricia Tichenor; sister, June Pryor of Washington state; brothers, Q.C.
